Privacy policy
Salone Digital ("we", "us") provides document, design, media and web services to customers in Sierra Leone through www.salonedigital.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to deliver your order.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details: your name, WhatsApp or phone number, town and, if you give it, your email address.
- Order details: the information you give us to prepare your document or design, such as work history, education, skills, references, event details, photos, logos and the documents you upload (for example an old CV or a thesis draft).
- Payment records: the amount, the payment method (Orange Money, Afrimoney or card), the payment reference and its status. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Monime. We never see or store your mobile money PIN or full card number.
- Usage information: anonymous counts of how people use the app (for example "opened the CV form"), linked to a random code stored in your browser, not to your name or number. We use this only to find and fix places where customers get stuck.
- Technical information: our hosting providers record IP addresses and basic device information for security and to stop abuse. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of IP addresses for rate limiting.
2. How we use your information
- To prepare, preview and deliver the service you ordered.
- To contact you on WhatsApp, by phone or by email about your order, including when you leave an order unfinished. You agree to this when you tick the consent box on the order form.
- To take payment, prevent fraud and keep financial records.
- To let you download your paid documents again from "My documents".
- To improve our services and keep the platform secure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising and we do not show adverts in the app.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run Salone Digital, and only as much as they need:
- Supabase: secure database and file storage.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Monime: mobile money and card payments.
- WhatsApp (Meta): when you choose to message us there.
- Google Fonts: the app may load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.
These providers may store data outside Sierra Leone. We may also disclose information if Sierra Leone law requires it or to protect our customers or our business from fraud or abuse.
4. How long we keep it
- Unfinished drafts and the files uploaded with them are deleted after 30 days.
- Paid documents are kept for 12 months so you can download them again, then deleted.
- Payment and order records are kept for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes.
5. How we protect it
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Uploaded and finished files are stored in private storage. Download links are personal and expire.
- Previews are watermarked. Clean files unlock only after payment.
- Only authorised Salone Digital staff can see order details, and their access is logged.
- Your order link contains a secret key. We store only a scrambled copy of it. Do not share your order link with people you don't trust.
6. Information stored on your phone
The app saves a few items in your browser so it works quickly and uses less data: your recent order codes and their secret keys, a copy of the price list, the random usage code described above, and your sign-in for "My documents". We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can remove these items at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it or delete it, or to stop contacting you. Some records, such as payment records, may need to be kept for legal reasons. 8. Children
Some of our services, such as exam practice packs, are used by pupils. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order or to agree to it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Important changes will be shown in the app.
